Why satin, and how the house cuts it

Satin is the house's most luminous cloth: a fluid, light-catching weave that pools and shines as you move. It is also the least forgiving, which is why we keep the cutting clean — long bias lines, a defined shoulder, a single seam doing the shaping — so the sheen of the fabric is the decoration and nothing else has to be.

Our satin pieces slip rather than cling, cut on the bias and fully lined so they skim the body and read luxurious rather than tight. The palette plays to the cloth: champagne and Avorio for a soft, candlelit glow, Basalt and Porpora for the depth that satin wears so well under evening light. These are the dresses for the reception, the dinner and the occasion where you want the fabric to be the first thing noticed.

Fit, care & wearing satin

Bias satin is cut close — size up for a fuller bust and adjust the hem rather than sizing down, and choose smoothing underpinnings so the line stays liquid. Hang rather than fold to keep the drape, steam on a low setting, and store away from light. Every satin piece is fully lined with a concealed zip.
