That off-shoulder band
The draped band across the shoulders sits exactly where it should and stays put through a whole evening of dancing. Nothing tugged, nothing slipped, and I never once had to hitch it back into place.
An evening cut in wine
Hugo Caesar Tassi designed Sabina for the Faustina collection — an off-shoulder dress with the poise of an old Roman evening.
Fine spaghetti straps carry a softly draped band that rests just off the shoulders, while a fitted sweetheart bodice draws into a nipped natural waist. From there the satin releases into a full fit-and-flare skirt that moves beautifully with every step.
We cut it in deep wine-red Porpora — the house's most evening of reds — with Basalt black and Cobalto navy as the quieter alternates. It asks for nothing more than fine gold jewellery and a heel.
The cloth and the cut
A fluid matte satin chosen for its weight and drape, with a low sheen that reads rich rather than shiny in golden light.
The satin has a soft, supple hand that holds the bodice clean and lets the skirt swing in full, easy folds. The bodice is seamed and structured for support; a discreet back zip keeps the line uninterrupted.
It is made to be worn from a long dinner into the gold of the evening — a cocktail dress that flatters the waist and gives the skirt room to move.
