Each earring opens into a teardrop of fine silver, its surface worked into a delicate lattice — a fine filigree of tiny scrolls and a flower at the base, hollowed through so the light passes clean through the frame. The metal is given a softly antiqued finish so the pattern reads with depth rather than glare.
Inside the open teardrop a single natural freshwater pearl hangs from a slim bar, free to sway as you move. A tiny pale bead sits above the frame, and a thin silver hook completes the drop. It is small, quiet jewellery — the kind worn for years rather than a season.

What sold me is the openwork on the teardrop itself. Held up to the window, the little silver lattice throws tiny flecks of light around the cage, and the pearl sits inside it looking almost suspended. Quietly clever design.
The pearl moving on that hook is the whole magic. It catches the smallest turn of my head and sways, never flailing about. Properly weighted.

These are genuinely pretty earrings, the cage-and-pearl drop is delicate and the silver finish is lovely. My own miscalculation, though: I left the order far too near my event and it landed a day after I'd already gone, so I never got to wear them on the night I bought them for. Was half-expecting a chalky, perfectly round bead. Instead the freshwater pearl has a real soft lustre and a faint irregular shape that tells you it grew somewhere. Lovely thing to look at up close.

Went back and forth between the two finishes and landed on Avorio. The warmer cream tone of the pearl against that softer silver suits my colouring far better than a cold bright would. Glad I trusted my instinct.
