That clean diagonal flap is the whole reason I bought it, and it's sharper in person than on screen. The smooth leather has a lovely close-grain finish, and the single gold line along the edge is so restrained it reads as a whisper rather than a logo.
Chose the Basalt and under restaurant lighting it goes this deep, almost ink-soft black that flatters everything. No flashy hardware shouting for attention, just that one thread of gold catching the candle now and then.
