That self-tie waist
The wrap closure is what sells it. You cinch the tie wherever it sits best on you, and the shirred empire waist takes over from there. I have a long torso and it still landed beautifully.
Drawn from a Roman afternoon
Hugo Caesar Tassi designed Aurelia for the Livia collection — a wrap dress that moves the way light moves through a colonnade.
The bodice crosses in a deep surplice V and gathers into a shirred empire waist, the kind of line that flatters without effort. From there the crepe releases into a soft A-line midi, weightless against the calf and quick to catch a breeze.
We printed it in a generous bloom of wine-red Porpora florals across a warm cream ground — large, painterly, unmistakably the house. Cap sleeves keep the shoulders covered; the whole dress pulls on overhead, no fastenings to fuss with.
The cloth and the cut
A fluid printed crepe chosen for drape, with a finish that reads matte and quietly luxurious in golden light.
The fluid polyester crepe has a soft, slightly textured hand that holds the print crisply while letting the skirt fall in long, easy folds. A touch of elastane gives the waist its forgiving stretch and keeps the silhouette settled through a long evening.
It is cut to be worn from a late lunch into the gold of the afternoon — an occasion dress that asks for nothing more than fine gold jewellery and bare ankles.
