Slips around the shoulders like nothing and yet keeps the chill off entirely. I wore it over a sleeveless gown for an outdoor dinner and never once felt that bare-arm shiver everyone else was complaining about. The viscose has a lovely fluid weight.
It's the fringe that sells it for me. Hand-twisted, neat, swings as you move and never tangles into a knotted mess like cheaper wraps do. A small detail done properly.
Bought it expecting plain black-ish charcoal, but in evening light the Basalt reads as this deep soft slate that flatters far more than dead black would. Goes beautifully over jewel colours and pales alike.
It's one size, so this is more about how I chose to wear it — I like a really enveloping wrap so I let it drape long and loose rather than holding it close, and it's perfect that way. If you prefer it snug across the shoulders just gather it tighter; the length easily allows for either. The viscose hand and the twisted fringe are every bit as nice as I'd hoped.
No complaint about the stole at all — the drape and that soft fringe are exactly what I wanted. The trouble was the delivery: the courier simply never turned up with it, and after a few days tracking just went dead. I got in touch and the atelier put a fresh one in the post straightaway, which arrived perfectly. Just a frustrating start through no fault of the piece.

What struck me first was how it falls. No stiffness, no awkward bunching at the elbow. You toss one end over a shoulder and it just stays, settling into soft folds. Genuinely lovely movement on the body.
