A soft surplice V-neck wraps across the bodice and gathers to one side at the waist, releasing into a soft self-tie ruffle that falls down the hip. Long sleeves keep the arm covered and the line elegant; the column skirt falls clean to the floor with a slit that stays restrained in wear.
We cut it in deep wine-red Porpora — the most evening of the house's reds — with Cobalto navy and a soft Gold as the alternates. The sequins are dense and fine, so in golden light they read as a low, restrained shimmer rather than a sparkle.
The sequins do the work; the cut keeps it composed. A black-tie dress made to be worn with poise.
Fine sequins are worked all over a supple stretch crepe base, so the gown skims the figure and holds a clean column without stiffness. The wrap front and ruffle add movement at the waist while the long sleeves and high neckline keep the look covered and quiet-luxury.

I was braced for something costumey and got the opposite. The sequins are so fine they read almost like liquid metal, catching the light in a low, steady shimmer rather than flashing. Wore the Porpora to a winter gala and felt quietly magnificent.
The little gathered ruffle where the wrap ties is what sold me, and in person it's even prettier. It gives the waist a soft focal point without any fuss. Cobalto under warm lighting is a deep, inky blue that looks expensive.
The gown itself is faultless, the Cobalto shimmer is gorgeous and the wrap bodice is so flattering. I'm on the shorter side, so I'll have the column taken up an inch at the hem. A dedicated petite length would have saved me the trip to the tailor, but that's entirely about my own height, not the dress, which is beautiful.
The column falls dead straight to the floor and moves with you instead of clinging. I could actually take a proper stride across a ballroom.
Entirely my own miscalculation, I left the order until ten days before the gala and it landed the morning after. The gown is genuinely lovely, the Porpora sequins have this slow gleam I adore, and I'll absolutely wear it for the next one. Just a lesson to myself to plan ahead with evening pieces.

Long sleeves on an evening gown are so hard to find when you don't want bare arms in December. These are fitted, elegant and covered in the same fine sequins, so nothing about the look feels like a compromise. Bless this dress.
Took it out to the balcony before the event to see the colour properly. The Porpora isn't a flat purple at all, there's a wine warmth to it that shifts as you turn. Photographs as a rich aubergine, reads softer in person.
