Vitellia answers the in-between hour — the courtyard before dusk, the cool of a stone interior — with a plush textured-knit gilet that asks nothing of you. A soft attached hood, an open placket of tortoiseshell horn buttons, and a raised diamond cable surface across the body.
Worn open over a fine ivory knit, it reads as warmth without weight, the kind of piece you reach for without thinking.

The argyle-diamond cable runs unbroken from the front placket around to the back panel, framed by the soft drape of the hood. Small buttons finish the lower side seams.
It is a quiet object — stone-cream, tactile, made to be lived in rather than looked at.

No fault with the knitwear — the travertine is beautiful and the textured hood gives it real personality. My gripe is the wait. My own bank put a hold on the first overseas payment for security checks, which meant the order couldn't be sent out until that cleared, and the whole thing stalled for the better part of a fortnight before it even shipped. By the time it landed I'd half forgotten I'd ordered it. Shame, because the gilet is genuinely lovely.
