Hugo Caesar Tassi cut Sempronia for the Faustina collection — a sequinned column that lets one clean line and a shift of light do all the talking.
The shoulder is asymmetric: one side bare, the other carrying a single covered strap finished with a soft sheer ribbon that falls in a long, quiet tail down the back. From there the dress runs close and unbroken through the bodice, waist and hip, the fine sequins reading as a single fluid surface rather than ornament.
Below the knee the column breaks into a fishtail, flaring just enough to trail behind as she moves. It is evening drama held to one idea, with nothing added that the silhouette does not need.

What sold me was the ombre. Under the chandeliers it reads deep navy at the shoulder and melts to silver near the fishtail, and it genuinely changes as you move across a room. Nobody could quite place the colour, which I loved.
Wore it to a winter gala and felt completely at ease the whole evening.
I braced myself for that scratchy, plasticky sequin feel and got the opposite. These are fine and laid flat, so the surface is smooth against the arm rather than abrasive, and the crepe underneath stops it clinging anywhere unkind.
That single bared shoulder is such a clever bit of design. It frames the collarbone without baring much else, so I felt covered and elegant rather than exposed, and it photographs beautifully from every angle.
The way the hem kicks out into the fishtail is the whole drama of the dress. Walking, it ripples; standing still, it pools. I caught myself doing little turns at the mirror before we even left.
Truly a beautiful gown — the ombre navy and that fishtail are exactly as romantic as I'd hoped, and the sequins are lovely and fine. My only personal wish is for a dedicated petite length, as I'm on the shorter side and had a little extra at the hem to manage with my heels. I always check the inside of a gown, and this one passed. The lining is smooth, the one-shoulder seam sits flat with no pulling, and the sequins are properly secured rather than glued. Quietly well made where it counts.
