Weightless on a hot day

A Roman garden, cut for daylight
The frescoed gardens of the Villa di Livia bloomed all year on a painted wall. The Livilla answers in printed chiffon — a flowering midi that carries that imperial garden into a modern summer.
Designed by Hugo Caesar Tassi for the Faustina collection, the Livilla takes the deliberate ease of classical drapery and reads it as a relaxed, A-line midi. A deep V-neck and soft dolman sleeves keep the line uncomplicated; the volume gathers from the yoke and falls into a single tiered, ruffled hem that moves with every step.
The all-over floral print is the dress — large daisies and chrysanthemums in fresco Vermiglio, imperial Cobalto, jade and golden yellow, scattered across a soft Avorio ground. It is a wedding-guest dress, a garden-lunch dress, a travel dress you can fold into a case and shake out at the door.
