Hugo Caesar Tassi drew Septima for the Iulia collection — a slip-on flat pared down to soft leather and a clean line.
There is no buckle, no lace and no hardware: just a single piece of supple cowhide shaped around the foot, the vamp cut low and the toe softly squared. A small leather pull-tab sits at the back of the heel to ease the shoe on and off.
The upper is unstructured, so it folds and softens with the foot rather than holding a rigid shape. A thin strip of natural-tan leather runs along the low heel and sole edge — the only contrast against the warm caramel.
A soft oil-drop cowhide chosen for the way it gentles and patinas with wear.
The leather is finished with a light oil drum that gives it a matte, faintly waxed surface and a warm caramel depth. In low afternoon light it reads soft and quiet; the grain lifts subtly where the shoe creases at the vamp.

The flats are exactly what I wanted, supple cowhide, that soft squared toe, very comfortable. The delivery was the problem. The courier handed my parcel to someone several doors down without a card or a note, and it took me three days of door-knocking to work out where it had gone. By the time I had it in hand I was thoroughly fed up, though none of that is the shoe's fault.

Cuoio in daylight is exactly the saddle-leather shade I was hoping for, warm without being orange. Goes with navy, cream, denim, everything I reach for. The unstructured cut means they fold soft around the foot instead of holding a stiff shape.
